MISSION AND HISTORY
Our mission: To promote and enable the socialization, independence, and mobility of seniors and individuals with physical limitations living in the Topeka area.
Our Story: In 1973, the members of the LULAC Council #11071 recognized the need for a support system for the elderly in Topeka's Latin-American community. The council sought to improve the lives of these seniors, and the community as a whole, by bringing about an awareness of the value of senior citizens and their ongoing contributions to society. Today the Topeka LULAC Senior Center invites members of the Topeka community from all walks of life. In providing a central resource through which community members can come together to access services, socialize, and engage in the world around them, participants maintain their independence and dignity.
What we do: Topeka LULAC Senior Center provides a comprehensive system of coordinated services and activities for individuals ages 60 and older and individuals living with disabilities.
